The Costura sofa pays homage to the noble tradition of bespoke tailoring that has guided its design process. In San Sebastián, the birthplace of great designers like Balenciaga, it has been customary for decades for small tailoring workshops to dress the city's passersby in perfectly tailored suits. Stua sought to revive this tradition, collaborating with expert artisans to create an upholstery that is a tailored suit that covers an innovative interior structure.
Beneath its timeless appearance, the Costura collection contains a number of innovations that make a difference.
Innovations:
- Super slim structure: The interior of the sofa is made of molded wood. This slim and strong structure saves space behind the backrest. The subtle curve of the back allows it to be placed anywhere in the room, even as a room divider.
- Legs your way: Legs can be installed straight or angled, as desired.
- Pillow-style cushions: Each Costura seat has two backrest cushions, which are also foldable. The larger one is made of foam, and the smaller, softer one is filled with natural down.
- Movable Chaise Longue: The chaise longue can be moved to the other side of the sofa at any time.
- Removable covers: Costura upholstery is carefully crafted using tailoring techniques. The entire Costura collection has completely removable covers.
- STUA Fabrics: Offers 18 fabrics with different characteristics according to your needs: flame-resistant fabrics, easy-clean fabrics, machine-washable fabrics, durable fabrics for installations, or ultra-soft to the touch.
